Applying for jobs and asking for work experience locally

Recently I've been thinking about people locally who could possibly be hiring or just need help with their photography. I have signed up to reed.co.uk to get job notifications on anything photography based. I had a job come through for a photography assistant for The Range in Plymouth. I remember when I was still at college I had a talk from Tim in commercial photography about the course and remember him saying that The Range like to hire students for their photography so I thought I could possibly be in with a chance of being on the shortlist for the job but I haven't heard from them which is disappointing because the job sounded really good.

I remembered after applying for the job from The Range that someone told me not long ago that estate agents always need photographers to take pictures of the houses their selling so I got in touch with a few local estate agents. I have only had one reply from an estate agents saying they have their own in house photographers but wished me all the luck in the future. I haven't heard from any other estate agents and I don't think I will but at least I tried.

The final place that I emailed was Pro:Direct. I remember when Nick White came in the speak to us he said he got a job with Pro:Direct to help him save and earn money in order for him to do freelance and personal projects. I am yet to hear back from them as well. I emailed them in January so I will chase them up soon.

The other day I had a job pop up on my Indeed.com account for a Photography Assistant in Totnes. Again this job role sounds really good and the deadline for the job hasn't come around yet so fingers crossed but I'm not very hopeful.
