Today I got another brief but it's one that I was really looking forward to as I knew this brief was coming. It's carrying on from my brief last year, Professional Practice. This year is a lot better though. There's a lot included in this brief which I'm really happy with because it's going to help me with my online presence and hopefully people in the arts industry will find me and like my work. My first task is to build a website which I hope fingers crossed is in the process of looking like a really successful website. For my first semester I've just got to keep my blog up to date and create my professional looking website.
Semester 2 is when it's going to get exciting. At the start of the semester my year is going to collaborate with the third years for a Print Auction to help raise money for our Free Range show in London next year. I went to the Print Auction last year and it's a really exciting and fun event to attend to see how much a print or a book can go for with the public bidding for them. I'm hoping that by helping to organise the Print Auction it will make the process even more exciting.
We then have a mini project that we will be briefed on nearer the time, which is similar to our Economy brief last year, this however is a lot more exciting because as a cohort will be doing the work in collaboration with the Banaras Hindu University in India, we will also be doing a cohort led symposium with the university as well. I'm super excited about this as I have always wanted to work with people from another country and to see how they interpret things.
The final task I have to complete is a Pecha Kucha presentation which at the moment I have no idea what this is but I'm intrigued...
I'm so excited and rearing to get going on this brief as I think this is going to be the most beneficial to myself and I can't wait to see what work I produce alongside everyone else in the cohort and with the university students in India.
