Last year the one thing the whole class got told was that we needed to be more confident and open about sharing our work and ideas, so this year every Friday we have grit sessions with not just our year but with the third year as well which I think is a really good idea because not only do I get to see what ideas they have and what they're working on but they can see what I'm working on and give me any feedback they may have on my work.
I showed everyone my work so far and they seem to like my idea but I just need to think more into why I'm creating the images and look into the background story of Alice in Wonderland. They told me to look into the two stories of Alice in Wonderland one from Tim Burton and Lewis Carroll. I also mentioned about possibly set designing so they told me to go and speak to film, costume design and animation to see whether I could collaborate with them or whether we could help each other out. Linking to what they said about the story behind my images they said for me to think about what different angle I could bring to the the story of Alice in Wonderland and to relate to theory of Alice in Wonderland to this day and age.
They didn't give me any artists to look at but I think it's because what I'm doing is creating my own story and version that not many photographers would have done a series based on exactly the same thing. I was really happy with my feedback and advice because they seemed to like my idea and the images I have produced so far which I'm really happy about as I want to produce images that people really like this year.
