Our first workshop today was on InDesign which is an Adobe programme. I have never used InDesign but have heard from different people that it's really easy to use but she people have told me it's hard to use. Once I knew where all the buttons were and what the buttons did I found it quite simple to use. My first task was to create a professional photographic portfolio. InDesign is a programme that is used by a lot of industries so will help me in the future. We all had to choose a theme to base our portfolio on and I chose the photos I have taken over the summer for The Devon Guild of Craftsmen.
I had to make the canvas of the portfolio the size of my phone so that I can download it and access it on my phone to show people and potential clients and employers. I went for landscape as the majority of my images were landscape. On the front cover I went for a simple white background with a font that looked like the words had been written with a crayon which is the effect I was going for. I chose the font colour to be black because I wanted to keep the detail on the other pages with the images. The thing that I found the most difficult was to make all of the images the same size on each page.
Below I have attached my portfolio which I am very happy with for a first attempt but I will definitely edit more and make it look more professional.
