This week I had my formative assessment for my PHOT201 project which involved me doing a 10 minute presentation in front of my group of about 6 people about my Weird and Wonderful project. I had to print off a condensed version of my blog and put it up on the wall in order to help me talk about my work a bit more freely. I printed off most of my research and all of my shoots to date with the contact sheets and some images from the shoots.
Everyone seemed to like my project and the only advice and constructive criticism I got was about my editing for my green screen images. My tutor left me some comments from my presentation which I have attached down below:
- Consistent approach to this project as you try to evolve an aesthetic in your pictures that belongs to you, evidenced in the research and contact sheets.
- Green Screen and technical trouble shooting. If you want to use the month ahead to make new work, then think about the logistical restrictions of using the college, resources so make a decision about how and where you practice as booking the space and managing that workload becomes more or less imperative as to whether the green screen or location is the main site for picture making.
- Booking Stephen seems really important to resolve a technical question in the Green Screen.
- Post production skill set could be nurtured and perceived with in a wider career skill base potentially.
All the feedback that was left I completely agree with I think I have a clear mind about what I want my final images to look like and what I want my book to look like but the only thing I'm having trouble with is editing my final images which I do need to work out what is going to be best for my project as if I carry on editing for much longer I will be running out of time for editing and printing of my book.
