Tim Burton - Research

Tim Burton is a very well known director, producer and screenwriter and has probably created every film you've ever heard of! He worked for Disney as an animator for a year and then decided to branch out on his own. He soon became known for creating films like Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Batman and the Nightmare Before Christmas. The reason why I'm researching him is because he directed the 2010 version of Alice in Wonderland which featured Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.

Burton directed the film adaptation of the popular musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street in 2007 which meant that he reunited with his old friend Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, all three of which received critical praise for their work on the film which included several Golden Globe nominations. In 2010 they all reunited to create Burton's version of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. His version was slightly different because Alice returns as a nineteen year old girl to the magical world from her childhood adventure where she reunites with her old friends and learns her true destiny. I didn't actually realise this about the movie so I will have to watch the Disney version and Burton's version to see which one I want to base my project on but at the moment, in my head mine is more like Burton's version.

I looked on Burton's website to see if i could find out anything about him or anymore information about Alice in Wonderland but I couldn't, his website however is very creative and interactive. It shows his upcoming and recent work but not really anything else but I have all the information I need about his version of Alice in Wonderland.
