Andy Davidson

I came across Andy Davidson again from researching into my other artists. He came up because he has done a personal project of him documenting his holiday down in Devon on his blog. When he's introducing his work he makes a really good point which is often what I want to try and say but can never think of how to say it so that people understand that a landscape isn't just a landscape. "Although I’m not a specialist landscape photographer, like most who love photography, it’s really hard to not try and capture the natural beauty of new locations."

Most of the people I've already researched into I have chosen a few of my favourite images of theirs and it's not been too hard but choosing a few of my favourites from these images has been a lot harder. All the images are all slightly different in their own way and I'm drawn to all of them visually.

Who is he and why do I like his work?

Davidson grew up in Devon and has lived in Australia and had a career in the RAF until 2012 when he decided to leave and provide some stability for the family but to follow his heart and pursue his career in photography that he had always had a passion for. His pure passion is to photograph people and to capture images that are packed with personality and candid human emotion but he does enjoy all aspects of photography.

He briefly tried out his career in a few different fields of photography he quickly realised he was drawn to weddings and the opportunities you get to capture the personalities, relationships and emotions that come across in every wedding day. He now has 6 wedding seasons and the experience of 100's of weddings behind him he now feels like he chose the right second career.

I think I was drawn to his work because having looked at his wedding photography it's so much different but yet so accomplished at the same time. The different shutter speeds he's used in order to create the effects on some of the images is a skill that a photographer who's just trained to be a wedding photographer would know, he's got a very wide range of skills that you can see just from comparing his wedding shots and landscape shots.
