I came across Paul White's work whilst researching into my other artists. His main line of work is commercial but he does have his own personal work folder on his website. His photography isn't the quality or the type of style that I normally like but I'm interested in his work because it's personal to him and because of the different types of photography mediums he uses in order to take the pictures.
White says this about his personal work: "I have been taking photographs since I was eight years old, my first camera was a Kodak Brownie. The images on this page have been shot over many years, and some go as far back as the late 1960's. These images span the journey from film, to the iPhone. Over the last couple of years I have come to really appreciate the filmic quality of iPhone as a camera, it is a bit like a trip down memory lane."
I was really intrigued about White because he doesn't always use a fancy DSLR camera to take his images, he uses his phone. I always take photos on my phone because I will always have my phone on me whereas I may forget my camera sometimes or go somewhere where I don't need it but end up somewhere where I could do with it. I always think that using a phone to take pictures and using them professionally and getting them printed for clients is wrong even though I know it's not but White has made me realise it isn't.
Below I have attached a few of his images that I really like from his personal images.
