I had never noticed desire paths before but ever since talking about desire paths I have noticed them a lot more. I was out walking the other day with my dad when we needed to cross the road and we were being lazy and didn't want to use the crossing so we crossed the road while no cars were on the road and ended up walking through a hedge. Turns out a lot of other people had walked through the same hedge as the branches and twigs were all broken and trodden on. Below is the desire path I found:
