This morning to end off our 2 and a half days at college we showed off our worked to the other two courses in small groups. This week we have been learning about pitching so we had to show our work to the other courses in a pitch style with a time frame of between 3 and 5 minutes. I was nervous about pitching as i don't like public speaking especially to people that I don't know. There was two of us from photography on the table so we decided to pitch together as we had near enough the same ideas and didn't want to have two pitches after each other sounding almost identical. We had two iPads with our blogs on and passed them around so that everybody could figure their way around our blogs without us telling them about it and them not really being able to see the small screen.

Then everybody else took it in turns to explain what they were doing in there subject course and explained what ideas they had towards the assignment. I learnt that everybody had been given the title 'The Start' and their course leader had chose an assignment related to their subject. Graphics were doing a map project and one boy in particular had really detailed work which looked really impressive. He had been given a brief on a particular artist that had drawn his journey in a map but based on a video games format, so this boy decided to draw his journey to college on a map. His detail was amazing and everything was drawn with care and precsion especially as it was drawn in pen!

Other graphics students had been given the same brief and had the same sort of idea but there sketchbooks weren't as detailed as this boys. Their sketchbooks were also quite sparse and didn't have much detail compared to this boys sketchbook who's sketchbook was fairly sparse but was full of detail.

Fashion then went on to talk about what they had done and their sketchbooks were the complete opposite to graphics as they were overflowing with bits of paper, fabric and material. They had been given lots of different topics within the topic 'The Start' which had meant that they got the opportunity to do printmaking and dying and to use the fabric press etc.

Above is a picture of a fashion student with a page from her sketchbook showing the dying process and the outcome of it.

Above is a picture of another short project they had within the assignment brief where they had to dress up someone from the fashion course into a religious outfit this particular student had chosen sikhs.

Afterwards we all critiqued ourselves and the other people in our group saying how well everyone had done on a piece of paper we were given. First we had to talk about ourselvs and how we thought we delivered our pitch to the others in the group. I wrote a positive thing about my pitch ' We spoke with confidence and had to be loud as other people were talking at the same time as us.' and then I wrote a negative about my pitch 'People said they didn't really know how to navigate around my blog and website as they have different links and they said it confused them.' I then had to write about whether the people liked or whether they were interested in my idea. I wrote 'Some people didn't look like they were that interested and just stared blankly at my blog/website'
