Summer Show!

This morning we got the chance to look around the Summer Show from the Year 2 students and the BA (Hons) students. The first exhibition we went to look at the Year 2 ED photography students work which is what I will be doing this time next year. I walked in and my jaw literally dropped the quality of the work that has been produced and how they have been presented. I found it quite hard to think that my work should be at this quality this time next year. You could really see the planning and the effort that had gone into every picture and I hope that mine look the same next year.

We then went around to look at nearly every other BA course that is run here at college. We went to see animation, ceramics and glass, commercial photography, costume production, fashion, fashion media and marketing, film, game arts, graphic design, illustration, jewellery and photography. We might have gone to see a few more but that is all that I can remember!

I was more interested in the photography and fashion parts of the exhibition because that is more what I am in to but I did enjoy seeing the other courses that I didn't necessarily know were run here. It was goo I got to see things that I didn't know where here because I could have been persuaded to change my career path but I wasn't.

The cluster of images above are all images from the BA (Hons) Commercial Photography and the BA (Hons) Photography exhibition. I chose to take pictures of these images as they were my favourite but they were also the sort of photography that I would like to produce in the future. I love how these images are all so sharp and so detailed but simple at the same time.

The image below is a dress that has been designed by the costume production students. It looked as if they had been set a task to create a costume for a fairytale play. I looked around all of the costumes and I was really impressed with how well made each costume was. This costume below was probably my favourite as I love how symmetrical it is. Everything has been sewn on in an orderly way.
