Today was such a lovely afternoon that I took the opportunity to go to my second location for my Final Major Project, Widecombe in the Moor. I have been to Widecombe before but not for a while and never to investigate the landscape there. As I was driving through Widecombe I didn't really see a lot, all I saw was the church which is the most famous part of Widecombe a couple of car parks, pubs and a couple of shops. I wasn't too sure what I was going to photograph when I first arrived there but after I had walked around and looked at what was actually there that I could take pictures of there was actually quite a lot and would be different from all of my other three location shoots that I am in the process of doing as well.
I didn't plan a shoot plan for this shoot because I had thought about it in my head and realised that it would be very similar to my previous shoot plan for Haytor.
I used the same equipment as I did for my Haytor shoot, so I used a Nikon d90 and a tripod so that I could get good straight pictures without them being wonky.
My location was obviously planned before I went to Widecombe.
I wasn't too sure on my timing there as i couldn't really remember what was there but in the end I was there for about an hour.
I didn't need any models or any assistance as all I had with me was my tripod and camera bag which I carried around with me but I could have left them in my car.
My post production hasn't been too bad for my images that came out well but for my images that didn't come out so well I have tried to make them look better but I haven't been successful so I only have two final images that I am happy with.
I had a problem with my shoot which I'm very surprised about. As it was so sunny my camera really struggled to focus on objects and buildings that were in direct sunlight instead of being in a bit of shade. The camera that I rented out didn't have a lens hood which I do normally use when I take photos but I never really see a difference whether I have one on or not but I'm not sue whether because I didn't have a lens hood that is the reason why I didn't get good pictures that were in the sun, because of this it meant that I couldn't get any good pictures of the church which is one of the main things I went there to mainly focus on but I will go back there and re -shoot.
