This afternoon we had a lesson on business skills. We had to work in pairs to consider how much time we spend in one week doing the following activities (that are going to be listed below) We then had to put our data of results into a pie chart on Microsoft Excel.

Activities:

1. In college

2. Doing college work at home

3. Working

4. Sociialising

5. Sleeping

6. Exercising

7. Travelling to work/college

8. Relaxing

My results in hours were:

1. Hours in college in one week 18.5

2. Hours doing college work at home in one week 14

3. Hours working in one week 18

4. Hours socialising in one week 18

5. Hours sleeping in one week 52.5

6. Hours exercising in one week 8

7. Hours travelling to work/college in one week 4.5

8. Hours relaxing in one week 7

We then had to create a pie chart in Excel to show our results.

We then had to work out percentages of our total hours for every activity. We knew that there was 168 hours in a day so we just had divide that by the number of hours in every activity for example the amount of hours I'm in college for one week is 18.5 hours so you divide 18.5 by 168.

The percentages I came out with for my seperate activities were:

1. Hours in college in one week 13%

2. Hours doing college work at home in one week 10%

3. Hours working in one week 13%

4. Hours socialising in one week 13%

5. Hours sleeping in one week 37%

6. Hours exercising in one week 6%

7. Hours travelling to work/college in one week 3%

8. Hours relaxing in one week 5%

We then had to think about what we are spending the most and least time on and whether that was a good thing. The activity I was spending most of my time on was sleeping but I don't think I should be spending less time on sleeping because I need a good amount of sleep in order to function properly and the activity I am spending the least amount of time on is travelling to work and college which I think is a good thing because it's not as important.

Another thing I had to consider was whether I spent too much time relaxing in the week which I don't think I do as I spend approximately 7 hours a week relaxing which means that I spend about 1 hour a day relaxing and sometimes I don't even spend that much time relaxing. One thing that I think I need to spend more time on is exercising as it would be good and would class as relaxing as it would get me out of the house and away from college work.
