Today was all about getting our blogs and Instagram accounts up to date and improving them as much as we could, so that we could get peer assessed by someone on the photography course. I was peer assessed by Faye who is in my group of friends so I was a bit unsure about someone who I know peer assessing my work as I wasn't sure whether they would be truthful and feel like they weren't allowed to be horrible but I think Faye was very honest in the way she assessed my work. As Faye was assessing my work I assessed her work. I was quite looking forward to assessing Faye's work as I have seen glimpses of her blog before and the images in her blog look very good. We both got given a sheet with 5 questions to answer about each others work.

1. How effective is the Visual Language being used eg. the photographic terminology, what different facts and situations are being investigated?

Faye's response: She uses a range of visual language and sounds very professional and as she knows what she is talking about

2. What research methods are used, is there a good level of analysis that demonstrates the research is being understood?

Faye's response: She clearly states that she researches other photographers for inspiration. She explains and tells us about what she's learnt which shows she understands

3. Is there a good level of contextual awareness and critical reflection on the core sessions. Has this informed the practical work?

Faye's response: In some of her images Lily has critisised her work. Perhaps a bit more analysis of what she likes in her work and what she can improve. I do a lot of annnotating of my images and write about what I see in my work. Possibly some of this but in general her contextual awareness and reflection is good

4. What key technical skills have been used?

Faye's response: Lily has used a range of technical skills. She has used depth of field and I think changed the levels and curves on Photoshop as the lighting and shadows always look good

5. Does the work demonstrate professional skills eg. communicating with other people, good time management, reflecting/evaluating?

Faye's response: Her blog is all in order and dated which shows she has good time management. She gives a link to her photography Instagram showing communication. I think a bit more reflecting/evaluating but other than that it's a very successful looking blog
