The Square

Yesterday we got given our next 4 week assignment but unfortunately I was ill so I didn't get it given to me but I was very worried that if I wasn't there I would miss out on the crucial bits so I emailed my tutors and kept in touch with my friends so that I had an idea of what to do.

I had to make mindmaps on my ideas. One on my initial thoughts to the brief, one on my first idea and one on my second idea

I then had to create two moodboards on my two ideas so that I could narrow down my ideas into what sort of style I wanted to do and to give me more inspiration. My two moodboards gave me a lot of inspiration and helped me to realise what I wanted to do on both topics. With my culture idea I've had the idea of doing a close up portrait on an Indian women with a saree over her head. I want to create the image by just using a wall in my house as the backdrop. I want to use a d90 to take the picture and I wanted to take the picture using the format RAW as it will give me the best detail. I either want to take one or two portraits depending on what I decide to do.

My fashion idea is to focus on autumnal fashion as that is what season we are currently in. I want to take a fashion full length portrait set outside with my female model wearing autumnal fashion. I want my model to be female as that is the fashion I know more about in this season. If I decide to go for this idea I want to set my picture outside under a tree with lots of leaves on the floor but if I go for this idea I would need to look at the weather in advance. I would use a d90 an shoot in RAW the same as my other idea.

I am more drawn to my culture idea as it something that I think and imagine to be really effective and is something different and a bit more difficult to organise which I would like to try out as it would be easier to do a fashion shoot based on autumnal fashion as we are in that season now but with a saree it is harder to get hold of.
