Surveying

This afternoon we got set a task to create a survey in order to get some feedback on our work but in a slightly different way. We could choose one or two of our own images to be evaluated and critiqued by other people. I chose two of my images from the studio still life shoot this morning as they are the most recent photos I have taken and are ones that I haven't had much feedback on.

We had to create 4 closed questions relating to feedback that could benefit us with our images. I came up with these 4 questions:

1. Does the picture that has been taken with a macro lens (left one) look better than the one with the standard kits lens?

2. Does the picture that has been taken with the macro lens (left one) give better detail than the one taken with the standard kit lens?

3. Do both pictures suit the pink background?

4. Rating from 1-5 how effective do you feel the picture on the left is?

Rating from 1-5 how effective do you feel the picture on the right is?

The results that I got given showed that on average people thought that the photo that was taken using the macro lens looked better to the other photo taken with the standard kit lens. On average people thought that the picture taken with the macro lens gave better detail compared to the other image. However, on average people thought that both of my pictures didn't suit the pink background. My image on the left got a score of 3 twice and a score of 4, four times. However, my image on the right got given a score of 1, once, a score of 2 twice, a score of 3 twice and a score of 5 once.

I agree with most of my feedback as I agree that my image that was taken with the macro lens gives off detail and quality than my other comparison image. I also agree that both of my images don't fit the pink background as my image that was taken with the standard kit lens made the perfume bottle that has the brighter pink label blend into the background which didn't make it look as effective.
