The Shoot

Tonight I mananged to do my shoot using my mum and my sister as models. Throughout the day I was thinking of ways that I could do my shoot to make it a little different and to fit a concept. I came up with the idea of shooting three of my family members all from different generations - my grandad, my mum and my sister to show the change of family. I'm not sure if my idea is going to work but if it doesn't then I will use two generations of my family.

My shoot went well as I have produced some good images that I am happy with. I managed to find a plain wall in my house that I used as the backdrop, I rented out a camera but I didn't rent out any lights as I have a very bright desk lamp that I used as my lighting during the shoot. To start off with I had my lamp on the floor pointing upwards to my models but the light wasn't high enough so I moved it higher which then made it high enough and at the right angle to get the right light on my models.

Before my shoot I thought about where I could take my photos and what I could use for my lighting and where abouts I could place the lighting. Before the shoot I had a vision of my lighting being on the floor pointin up towards my model but that didn't work when I came to the shoot. Before my shoot I had tried the headpiece on my sister and it started to slip off as the headpiece is made of silky material which slips off hair.

I would say that not having the right position for the lighting was my only problem as I didn't have any troubles with my models or my headpiece and my lighting issue was resolved. I managed to get the correct ISO, white balance and aperture and shot in manual for most of my shoot as it was easier than using auto focus.

These are my final images that I have come out with. I am very happy with how these have turned out because they show the detail I wanted them too and really show my concept off to my audience. I love how it really shows the difference in imediate family through the generations which I wanted to do.
