Freedom of Speech

This afternoon we were having a little debate on Donald Trump who is in the rank to become the next President of the United States. We were discussing whether it's right for Trump to say what he does and to whether we agree that us as the United Kingdom should ban Trump from coming to the UK. I don't agree with what Donald Trump has to say but I feel that it's not really something that I really need to be concerned about. I do however have an opinion on what Trump has to say. Trump has said that all Muslim's should be banned from entering the USA borders until they find out what ISIS are doing. I don't agree with this because all it's going to do is make ISIS angry and it's going to make them target America but I think Trump has thought about that and has come up with what he feels is a better and safer plan. He has said that he wants to kill the families of ISIS to show that America isn't afraid and to show that ISIS may not care about anybody but that they do care about their family. This is also a very stupid idea because if they did ever do that it would make America even more of a target.

In the UK there is talk on stopping Donald Trump entering the UK but today we found something very interesting about Trump. He is actually half British because his mother was British which could mean that he could have a dual passport which would need to be taken off of Trump in order for him not to enter our country. I don't agree with this because yes he has said some very offensive things but everyone has their own opinion and is entitled to express it, so by banning Trump from Britain it would break the G8 as Britain and America are members.

After we had this debate it made me think about whether this could be something that I could think about for my project. I thought about whether it could fit into the background of my topic of work. The only thing that I could think of was that when I take my images it will show the skin colour difference between my nan and my grandad when they are holding each other's hands. When I thought into this a bit more I thought that people make my images sound controversial because a white women would be holding hands with a black man. Even though this known as more 'normal and natural' now it is still sometimes seen as being completely wrong in some people's eyes. When I see or hear people being racist towards people it makes me get wound up and quite angry because were all humans.
