My shoot

Last night I managed to do my shoot and I think that it went really well. I managed to get the images that I wanted and in the position that I wanted. This morning I have started to edit. In some of my images the lighting is quite harsh and makes the images look very red which could also have been down to the white balance on my camera. However, in some of my other images the lighting is very dim so makes my images look very dark. The one thing that I think I could have done better was to use better lighting as I only used a desk lamp, the same one that I used in my shoot for my last project so next time I do a shoot at home I am going to need to take some lights home with me. One other thing that I should have done in preparation for my shoot was to do a test shoot using some different people's hands. I was planning on doing a test shoot when we were in the studio a couple of weeks ago but we were being taught different techniques and other people were doing test shoots so we didn't end up having enough time for everyone to do test shoots.
When I was editing these I didn't really notice this but when one of my tutors looked at my images she said that some of them contained quite a bit of red so she showed me how I could change the white balance in Camera Raw. Once I did this my images did look better but I do like some of my images with a bit more of a red tone in them because it shows off the different skin tones in my family that I was wanting to show.
I have produced some contact sheet which I haven't yet analysed but I will do when I get time just to show what i thought of them before they were edited even though I have already edited them. By looking at the contact sheets below I can see the difference in the lighting but luckily when I was doing the shoot I realised and looked back at my images and changed the position of the lighting.

I am very happy with how most of my images turned out because I managed to get about 12 possible final images which I am going to need to choose from. I want to have a set of 3 images so that my images show a sort of story of my family in generations. I have edited some of my images in black and white and some of my images in colour so I'm not sure whether to go for 3 images in black and white or 3 images in colour. At the moment I am more drawn to 3 images in colour because it shows the skin colour difference more.
I have three images that are my possible 3 final images that I really like. I would want my images to go in this order as this is the age generation in my family which I want to prtray as well throughout my images.
