The Cove Studio shoot

This morning we had an independant shoot in the Cove studio. We wanted to try out some different attachments tht go on the lights so that we could get better effects for full body portraits and close up portraits. We used some different pieces of equipment that we hadn't used before so we needed to know how to use it so one of the guys from the ERC came down to help us. We booked out an umberella to help us get better lighting for the full body portraits which worked really well as you can see on the contact sheets below. We also booked out a soft box to put on the light but we did't use it in the end.

Above are the contact sheets from our shoot because we shared a camera some of the pictures shown weren't taken by me but most of them were. I am very happy with how most of my images came out. I have edited some of my images just to make the images look a little bit sharper and to get rid of any blemishes. One problem that I had was the flash sometimes wouldn't fire so some of my pictures came out black.

I think this is my favourite from the shoot because I didn't ask my model to pose in any position because I was just trying the background out but this pose is so natural. I love the position the head is in just slightly tilted to the left. I have edited this image very slightly just to enhance the image and to bring some more colour in the hair out.

I like this image because this has been taken not as close up as the other ones but it has a slight shadow which is effecting the image a little as you can't see the full shape of the face. I have edited this image slightly to correct any blemishes like I did with all of them but this one I couldn't get the missing bit of hair to stand out anymore.

The last two images are very similar and again I have done a tiny bit of editing in order to make the images little bit more enhanced

All in all I think the shoot went really well as I was just trying some new techniques out but I ended up with some good images that I like. Ideally I wanted to try and do a test shoot to try out before I do my shoot for the end of the project but we didn't have time which is a bit disappointing.
