When we went to Whitsands Bay today we looked around to find all the rubbish on the beach in order to make a sculpture out of the rubbish. When we first got to Whitsands we had to walk all the way down a very steep cliff in order to get to the beach but before we started to walk down we looked down to the beach to see if we could see any obvious rubbish. We couldn't. When we couldn't see any rubbish we thought that we wouldn't be able to build a sculpture but once we got down to the beach and walked around a bit we saw rubbish in one area of the beach. Luckily we found this rubbish and we were able to build our sculpture.
The first thing we saw was a piece of wood that had been stuck up in the sand and seemed quite sturdy so we decided to use this as the starting point of our sculpture. We looked around at different things that we could use to create something and we saw a black plastic pole that we thought we could use. We then came up with the idea of using the pole as arms and the wood for the body of a person. We then found some netting that we used as a bit of minimal clothing for our person. We then just found lots of random items on the beach that we usedto finish off our person. We found a clump of netting for some hair, a builders hat, a rubber glove for a hand, a welly and a trainer. The one downside to our sculpture was that it had two right feet and one hand!

I am very impressed with how our sculpture came together, as it may not be the neatest sculpture ever but it is a sculpture that you can tell what it is. I think it is very inventive!
