This afternoon we had a tutorial on how to use iMovie. We need to be able to know how to use iMovie in order for us to pass all three units of the assignment. Before we started I thought that I would find it really difficult but in actual fact it was quite easy to do.
The first step that I had to do was to find all the pictures that I wanted to upload onto the library of iMovie.
Then I dragged all the images that I wanted to use into the movie space and chose the time that I wanted each image to be shown for. I chose 2.5 seconds each.
I then played my short film to see how long it was and whether I liked it how it was, I decided that I wanted to add some sound to it so I looked through the sound effects that were available on iMovie and I chose one called Time Lapse. I liked the nice subtle noise that it played in the background but I didn't feel like the music related really well to the pictures so I added a sound effect of a boat on the waves which made it sound so much better.
I was thinking about adding different transitions as the default transition that is automatically put on was okay but I wasn't sure about it but after looking through some of the transitions I decided that I would stick with the default transition.
When I was making my short film I was thinking about what my pictures could show. All of my pictures show the sea without any rubbish as if the beach has been untouched with rubbish but at the end it shows a picture of a little sculpture of rubbish showing what is hiding behind the scenes of a beach and what it can do to the environment. This is the aim of my film, the secrets behind the untouched beach.
I am really happy with how my film has turned out because I have never made an iMovie before so I thought that it would be a lot harder to create than it was, it was actually very straight forward. My video is now published on Youtube which I find it a bit weird but it is a good thing as well because it means that people can see my first attempt and can see the beauty of the sea.
