On Saturday I took the opportunity to drive to a beach pretty near to where I live in order to complete my task for my client that I have chosen. I wanted to be able to find some rubbish so that I could take some pictures that linked to plastic pollution which is what I have been aiming to achieve through my photos.

When I walked down to the beach I couldn't see any visable rubbish just like when we went to Whitsands but when I got onto the beach I still couldn't see any visable rubbish so I had to hunt for rubbish. It is a good thing that there wasn't much rubbish on the beach but I needed to find some rubbish on the beach in order for me to illustrate what I wanted too. Later on I found out that there is an organisation called Clean For The Queen which is an organisation charity that are going around different beaches in the UK aiming to clear each beach ready in time for the Queen's 90th Birthday celebrations in June this year which could be the reason as to why I couldn't see any rubbsih at first as I had been told that they had been there a couple of days before. Luckily I managed to find some rubbish which was good for me. Some of my images came out quite dark because the sun was shining down on the objects I wanted to photograph which was hard for me to be able to set my ISO and white balance correctly, but some of my images have come out really well and I really like them. I like this image underneath of the ice cream spoon because I love the position that the spoon is in balanced on the rocks but I do however feel that the image could be a little bit dark and the end of the spoon is a little washed out due to the sun shining down on the spoon. I might lighten the image a little in order to make the image a little brighter but the trouble with doing that is that the spoon could become even more washed out.

I'm not too sure on the image below of the McDonald's cup as I feel that the image is again too dark as the image was taken in the shade but I have tried to lighten this image and it just makes the detail of the cup wash out and actually makes the white really bright so much so that you have to squint hen you look at the image.

I like this image of the ripped Easter egg packaging because it is half in the sun and half in the shade which then makes it have a nice effect on the image. I think this could be one of my favourites as the composition is quite even and all of the colours stand out really well.

All in all I am very happy with how my shoot went as I did get some good shots even if they are a little bit dark and could do with a little bit more editing.

I also read through the client brief again and I saw that the suggestions that Coral had given us and she had said:

- can you capture the beauty and peril of our oceans and marine life in a series of images, a short film, website or a blog post

- could you create a sculpture made out of plastic waste found on the beach

I have been able to achieve both of these which I am happy about because not only have I linked to one of the suggestions from the client I have linked to two.

I am happy that I have linked to more than one of the suggestions given by Coral as I will have more to be marked on if one area isn't as good as the other.
