Idea 1: Nature

After trying to think of ideas all of yesterday I have finally come up with some ideas that are possibilities for what I could produce for my Final Major Project. My first idea is to do with the nature around me and how it changes each week and through the seasons. At the moment I am just jotting down some ideas as to what I could do for each idea so my ideas could change but at the moment I am thinking of photographing a series of images that I have taken all in one day and then take another series of images in one day the week after and so on. I might take the pictures in the same place each week but I might take the images in different places each week. If I was to shoot in a different place each week I would shoot a location scout at each location in order for me to show the difference in that area. I would be showing how nature changes throughout spring aknd just into summer.

I have been researching into photographers that I really like the look of and who have done similar things to what I am imagining of producing. The first photographer that I have found is Mark Hamblin.

Hamblin photographed this image which he calls 'Mountain Hare', I really like this image because I love that it is showing the hare in detsil but also shows the background as well which has given me the idea that if I choose to go with nature for my Final Major then I could shoot something similar on the moors near me. I love the detail of the hare that this image shows off because it looks as though the hare is looking at the camera from the corner of it's eye but also looks like it's looking at some prey.

I love the image below which is also of a mountain hare. This is different to the image above because it is reallly showing the dtail of the hare which I love but it also shows the detail of the hare yawning. When I first saw this image I didn't think that hare was yawning, I thought it was bearing their teeth at a predator but as I researched into the photo it was actually yawning.

I really love the two images above by Mark Hamblin as they really show off the true reality of nature in springtime. This has inspired me to go for nature as my Final Major but I'm not sure about what my concept would be and whether they would be as visually interesting to some of my other ideas.
