Peer Critique

We had a peer to peer critique today, this was important for me to get this information as I missed out on the big critique. We got put into pairs and had to show each other ours blogs/workbooks. Once we had looked through our partners work we had 4 boxes to write some constructive criticism, to help us think about specific things to help us pass the units we got given 4 questions as guidelines. Our 4 questions were:
Your contextual investigation
Your conceptual development
Your technical exploration/experimentation/photographic shoots
Your plans for final outcome
My peer who critiqued me was Suki. Suki looked through my work and asked me questions as we went through. She asked me questions about my concept and how I was planning on presenting my work for the summer show. With all the information she needed, Suki filled out my form.
Suki said in box number 1:
Investigation- Exploring the moors, comparing effectiveness and analysing the success of the shoots. Lots of artist research, improvement- Compare 2 artists
Suki suggested that I should compare 2 artists and analyse them in order to improve further. I thought this was a fair point as I haven't included that in my my blog yet. Within her criticism she also included a sentence to show that she understood my idea and concept.
In box number 2 Suki said:
Investigating the moors and how it changes over time. Weather, environment, animal life etc. Improvement- Think about a more specific concept
I agree with Suki with this piece of improvement because my concept is quite vague, I think I made it quite vague because I'm still testing my shoots out on the moors so I kept my concept quite open to be able to change it.
In box number 3 Suki said:
Test shoot was ruined by falling tree. This has been analysed- improvement- more test shoots
This is true. I have done more test shoots but haven't been posted to my blog yet.
In the final box number 4 Suki said:
Book showing timelapse page by page. Idea- timelapse shown through panoramic style image
I think this is a good idea but I think that this would probably mean that I would have to change my concept to focusing specifically on panoramic images.
